About: Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for a Disease Investigation Specialist in the Department of Community Health Services. Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree in health education, nursing or a related field and two (2) years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have valid Driver’s License and private vehicle for job use.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) Conducts pre and post testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted disease counseling sessions to include educational, motivational and risk reduction messages at counseling testing sites, sexually transmitted disease clinics or other setting when necessary. 2) Interviews clients regarding contact education for active disease intervention and sex partner notification when program policy dictates. 3) Answers questions and maintains strict confidentiality of all information obtained in counseling session on risk reduction behavior and demographic test results. 4) Provides pro-test counseling and informs patients of test results in accordance with current protocols and guidelines.
