About: The Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) at the University of Arizona (UA) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its existing and expanding team of scholars in the Health Behavior Health Promotion section within the Division of Health Promotion Sciences. The mission of this Division is to collaborate with communities in southwestern United States to develop innovative responses to health challenges, and translate evidence-based approaches into best practices within community, clinical and global public health settings. We are interested in candidates who conduct applied community-based research on nutrition and/or physical activity interventions to prevent chronic disease. The position is open to individuals from a wide range of academic disciplines (e.g., public health, anthropology, sociology, psychology, nutrition, education, exercise science) and for those who have expertise in any number of research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches. The successful candidate will have academic credentials appropriate for the rank of assistant or associate professor (tenured or tenure earning), including a record of extramural funding and publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to maintaining a funded research program and collaborating with community groups/organizations, the successful candidate is expected to develop and teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in health behavior health promotion (generally teaching two courses per year for those faculty active in mentoring graduate students), and contribute to the research and service mission of the college.
