The focus can be on epidemiology or prevention research regarding the environment at the community, neighborhood, or school level. Expertise in design, measurement, and analysis methods for understanding environmental risk is preferred, including GIS, GPS, ecological momentary assessment, and/or accelerometry measurement, and multi-level longitudinal analysis. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to a growing core of faculty expertise in understanding the built environment, and depending on background, direct and expand this core. Current core resources include USC’s Institute for Spatial Sciences, a relevant bank of equipment (GPS, EMA, accerolemeter, cell phone), and faculty from different schools within USC.
Teach: In addition, the academic programs in the department include degrees at the bachelors, masters and doctoral level. Applicants must have a commitment and evidence of the ability to provide high quality teaching in the classroom as well as mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful applicant will be recruited as a faculty member in the Department of Preventive Medicine - Health Behavior Research Division.
