The Seattle Institute for Biochemical and Clinical Research is seeking a part time Research Dietitian, in Seattle, WA, USA. Deadline unknown.

Job description: typical duties include but are not limited to: design and implementation of dietary protocols for metabolic studies of diabetes and obesity; developing and implementing policies regarding unit operation in areas such as food purchasing and preparation; maintenance of research data; assisting with study design and planning to efficiently coordinate concurrent research projects and assisting with preparation of operating budget for unit.

The incumbent will meet on a scheduled basis with study participants to provide counsel and training in the implementation and maintenance of diets including self-monitoring, strategies for restaurant eating, goal setting and coping with lapse and relapse. S/he will provide evidence based information about improving nutrition and weight status and relevance of these behavior changes for treatment of diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. S/he will plan, organize and conduct group classes on a regular basis per study protocol.

S/he will evaluate ongoing adherence and compliance with dietary protocol and will play an active role in recruitment and retention of study participants. The Research Dietitian will work as a team member with the Principal Investigator, Co-Investigators, Program Director, Lifestyle Behaviorists and other staff.

The incumbent will attend national-level planning and training meetings as appropriate. Will be required to lift weights up to 40 pounds for scale calibrations.

Desired training and education requirements: Graduate of accredited school with Bachelors in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics and/or Masters in Nutrition including completion of clinical practicum experience. Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
