Appointment: Department of Human Ecology is seeking for a candidate who has a doctoral degree in nutrition and is a Registered Dietitian with established record in teaching and research for a 9-month tenure track appointment at Delaware State University.
Description: A successful candidate is expected to teach and mentor undergraduate dietetics and nutrition students, serve as the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and develop an independent research program that focuses on the role of nutrition/dietary factors in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and/or cancer. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere The candidate will be expected to establish collaboration with healthcare facilities to enable students acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies to become a dietitian. The candidate is also expected to assist in program development and evaluation grant writing, student advising, recruitment and to engage in other departmental and university activities. Willingness to seek Delaware Licensure is a plus. . , Qualification: Candidates must have earned Doctorate in Human Nutrition and possess current Registered Dietitian certification. Ability to attract external funds to support teaching and research is required.
