The position manages and provides leadership to the Rape Prevention and Education (REP) and Rape Crisis and Victim Services Programs of the Injury and Violence Prevention Branch. The position assures that sexual assault prevention is included in all NC efforts to prevent sexual assault through the use of evidence-based and supported strategies and that all programs have an evaluation component. Duties include preparing grant and contract documents, monitoring grantees and contracts, supervision of staff, preparing grant applications and maintain a State Prevention Team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
Considerable knowledge is required in the areas of public health, strategic planning, designing and managing prevention programs, and strategies, best practices of violence prevention, and program monitoring and evaluation. Demonstrated abilities are required in operational broad, abstract concepts, into specific actions, using databases, working with people in diverse settings, managing multiple responsibilities, strong interpersonal communication, analyzing qualitative data and interpreting quantitative analysis, organizational, and time management.
Minimum education and requirements:
Master's degree in public health, social work, nursing, psychology or related field and one year of experience in a related human services program; or graduation from a four year college/university and three years of administrative, consultative, or counseling experience in a related human services program.
