About: FoodCorps is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy. Working under the direction of state and community partners, our corps members dedicate a year of public service to ensuring that children grow up in healthy school food environments: places where kids learn what real food is and where it comes from––and have daily access to it in their school meals.
FoodCorps Service Members: Teach kids about what healthy food is and where it comes from Build and tend school gardens Bring high-quality local food into public school cafeterias FoodCorps North Carolina has been serving in six amazing communities across the state for the past three years and there is a possibility we may be able to grow our program by adding 1-3 new sites! All expansion is dependent on the funding levels with FoodCorps national and while we can never be certain whether we can grow this year or next, we would like to invite organizations to consider applying. If we are funded, having new sites selected, would mean organizations could host a FoodCorps service member as soon as this September.
