Senior Program Officer in Vulnerable Populations at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Deadline to apply March 27, 2012.
About the position: The Foundation is seeking a senior program officer to work with the Vulnerable Populations Portfolio. This team, which oversees some of the Foundation's most exciting and inspiring work, seeks new ideas and partners principally from outside the health care sector to effect immediate and lasting improvements in the health of our society's most vulnerable people. This Portfolio addresses how complex social factors (poverty, education, and housing) affect people's health, and develops solutions within that context. This approach allows us to address long-standing problems using unconventional approaches that start at the individual and community level, but have potential for national impact.
Application details: Apply online; Interested candidates should apply by submitting the following materials: an updated resume, short letter of interest, and a 500 word essay on a proposed investment of up to $1m that you would develop in a community to improve the health of vulnerable populations. Please set your own parameters in terms of identifying the population, the issue and the strategies to achieve your goals.
