The School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science at Lenoir-Rhyne University seeks applications for a new tenure-track position in Exercise Science and Health at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning August 2012.
Description: Ph.D/Ed.D. in Exercise Science, Health or related area is required by the beginning of the appointment. Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities will include teaching within the Exercise Science and Community Health degree programs along with academic advising and serving on university committees. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, scholarly and professional engagement, and campus citizenship. The School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science oversees undergraduate degree programs in Community Health, Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education and Sport Management along with a post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship, Master of Science in Athletic Training (entry-level) and a Master of Public Health. The position is designed as an interdisciplinary position and successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to teach and mentor students in the various degree programs in the School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science.
