This position will serve as the Director of Research/Executive Director for TRANSPERS research as well as related research on adoption of new technologies, health services research, and health policy. Launched in 2008, TRANSPERS is a first-of-its-kind research center dedicated to developing evidence-based information for patients, providers, industry, researchers and policymakers to objectively assess how personalized medicine can be most beneficial and efficient in improving health outcomes. The goal of the TRANSPERS Center is to advance the translational continuum for personalized medicine to ensure that new personalized medicine technologies can be used most beneficially and efficiently in clinical care. To date, TRANSPERS has received over $10 million in funding via awards from the National Cancer Institute, National Human Genome Research Institute, the Blue Shield of California Foundation, the Aetna Foundation and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and continues to focus on bringing together a broad spectrum of stakeholders from academia, government and groups representing patients, providers and payers.
