The research group, Policy to Practice in Youth Programs in the Arnold School of Public Health at theUniversity of South Carolina, is currently seeking applications for postdoctoral fellowships. Applicants must have an PhD/DrPH/ScD in public health, behavioral science, nutrition, physical activity promotion, or a related field or equivalent degrees. An established track record of original, first-author, publications is a must.

About the position: The faculty appointment will be in the UNC Department of Nutrition in the Nutrition Epidemiology Division. The position will involve research based on the NIH funded longitudinal SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth Nutrition Ancillary Study, as well as other funded projects including both observational studies and clinical trials, led by Dr. Beth Mayer-Davis. In addition, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other investigators at UNC and elsewhere to advance a trans-disciplinary program in global diabetes, with particular interest in emerging epidemics of diabetes in low- and middle-income countries including (but not limited to) China. As part of developing this collaborative program of research, the scholar will engage in mentored activities to develop independent funding in the area of diabetes.
