About: The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-track, academic year position (60% research, 40% teaching) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are looking for an individual who will strengthen our priority area of “Nutrition, Exercise, and Healthy Behaviors” by conducting clinical and/or translational research involving the psychosocial factors that influence nutrition and physical activity with regard to intervention and prevention of obesity or obesity-related disorders. Opportunities exist to conduct interdisciplinary research involving environmental factors affecting parental and child nutrition and physical activity; sleep patterns; interactive media use; and the role of social marketing and its impact on consumer behavior. We seek a scholar with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and a demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding. He/she should have appropriate teaching experience and the desire to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Special consideration will be given to candidates capable of establishing research and teaching collaborations with faculty across the campus.
